Statement: The government on 7th September 2022 announced a decision of renaming Delhi's Rajpath -the ceremonial boulevard extending from India gate to the Rashtrapati Bhawan- as 'Kartavya Path'. After the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NMDC) convened a special meeting over the matter, The Union minister for state  Meenakshi Lekhi, addressed in a press meeting, elucidating the symbol behind the renaming. Rajpath conveys a meaning of taking administrative positions with the intention of doing rule, the change in the name is remainder that the spirit of public service is not the right to rule but a duty to serve.
