The Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan governments signed an agreement for the Rs 72,000 crore Parbati-Kalisindh-Chambal river linking project. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in Bhopal by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. This project aims to provide drinking and industrial water to 13 districts in eastern Rajasthan, as well as the Malwa and Chambal regions of Madhya Pradesh, and will offer irrigation to at least 2.8 lakh hectares in both states.
