Two wattmeters connected to measure the input to a balanced three phase star circuit indicate 4500 W and -800 W. The latter reading is obtained after reversing the current coil of wattmeter determine the value of capacitance to be introduced in each phase which will cause the whole power to be read by first wattmeter. The supply voltage is 400 V and frequency is 50 Hz.
