Surya Sen led the Chittagong armoury attack on April 18, 1930. Sen formed a group of young and passionate revolutionary young men like Ganesh Ghosh, Lokenath Bal, and Ananta Singh. The group succeeded in dismantling the telephone and telegraph systems to isolate the city. They also broke down the railway links between the city and the rest of Bengal.
