Direction: Read the following passage and answer questions:-

Chinnaswamy Subramania lyer was born on December 11, 1882, at Ettayapuram in Tamil Nadu to Lakshmi and Chinnaswami Iyer, a man of great ambition, if not much business acumen. Lakshmi died when "Subbayya", as Subramania was affectionately called, was only five years old. He spent most of his early days with his maternal grandfather, who introduced him to the treasures of Tamil poetry. By the time he was seven or eight years old, he had surrendered himself to the magical world of poetry. So prodigious was his talent that he could improvise poetic lines on the spot, stunning his listeners with his great prowess. He was conferred the title of 'Bharati', one blessed by the goddess of leaming. Thus, at the age of eleven, Subbayya became Subramania Bharati.
