Direction: Study the following table and answer the question:

The following table shows the number of first-language speakers (in millions) of the seven most widely spoken languages, namely, English, Chinese, Spanish, Russian, French, Portugese and Arabic. There are 3800 known languages spoken worldwide, 1/7 are expected to die out over the next 40 years and 72.5% are predicted to die out in the next 100 years. As a first language, 3/7 of the world's population speaks the seven most widely spoken languages and a further 1.7 billion speak one of the seven languages as a second language. Based on the data in the table, answer the question.
