Main objectives of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan are:
(i) Providing universal access to education to all children in the age group of 6-14 years.
(ii) Achieving universal retention to all children in the age group of 6-14 years.
(iii) Providing quality education to all children in the age group of 6-14 years.
(iv) Providing mid-day meals to all children in the age group of 6-14 years.
(v) Abstain from detaining any child in the age group of 6-14 years.
