Directions∶ The given caselet gives the statistics of a state election held in 2017. Study the caselet and answer the questions that follow.
In June 2017, legislative assembly elections were conducted in a state of India on 400 seats, out of which 20.5% were reserved for scheduled castes/tribes. Of the total population of the state, only 68.5% are eligible for voting in elections. Out of approximately 14 crore electors in the state, only 64% of them cast their votes from around 145000 polling stations. 55% of the total electors are males, but only 60% of them voted in the elections. 0.02% of the polled votes were declared invalid. 4850 candidates contested in the elections, out of which 9.9% were females. 8.2% of the male candidates, who contested in the elections, won in the election. The ruling party contested on 96% of the seats, but won on 78% of the seats, receiving only 37.5% of the total valid votes. The second major party received 22% of the total valid votes, but won only 4.75% of the seats. As compared to the previous elections held in 2012, the total number of votes polled in 2017 is 18% more than that in 2012, out of which 0.05% of polled votes were declared invalid. The ruling party in 2012 received only 29% of the valid polled votes, but won on 56% of the total seats. On the other hand, in 2012, the current ruling party won only 11.75% of the seats receiving only 15% of the valid polled votes, while, the current second major party won only 20% of the seats receiving 26% of the total valid polled votes in 2012.What percentage of the total population of the state did not vote in the elections?
