Ten different products viz. Kota Doria, Chanderi saree, Madhubani, Basmati rice, Kullu shawl, Muga silk, Coorg coffee, Kutch embroidery, Darjeeling tea and Alphonso mango of ten different states viz. Gujarat, Karnataka, Himachal – Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Assam, Madhya – Pradesh, Rajasthan, West – Bengal and Maharashtra got the GI tag in ten different years i.e. 2002, 2003, 2007, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2022 but not respectively in the same order.
Punjab is the last state to get their product GI- tagged and got an edible item (Beverages is not included in edible) tagged. Kullu - shawl is the sixth product to get GI- tagged. Bihar got Madhubani GI-tagged after 2015 in an even year and its last two digit is multiple of 3. Muga silk and Madhubani got GI tag in consecutive year. Kutch embroidery didn’t get GI tag in even year. Basmati rice who got GI tag after Kullu shawl and at least three states got tag between them. Two states got their products GI – tagged between both the beverages but in alphabetical order. Karnataka is the first state to their product GI – tagged. Darjeeling tea got the tag before 2013. Madhya Pradesh got their product GI – tagged three states after the one who got it for Darjeeling tea. Alphonso mango got tag immediately after Darjeeling tea. Two states got tag between Alphonso mango and Kutch embroidery. Maharashtra got product tagged six years before Bihar. Kota Doria got tag two places before or after Maharashtra. Two state got tags between Maharashtra and Gujarat. Madhya – Pradesh did not get GI – tag for Kota doria instead Rajasthan got this tag. Himachal – Pradesh got tag before Assam but after West Bengal.
