Directions: Study the following information carefully to answer the questions that follow:
A certain number of students appear in two banking exams for Bank X and Bank Y. Out of which 32% of students fail the preliminary phase and were not allowed to give the mains examination. 78% of the students that succeed in the mains round cleared the Group Discussion round. After the personal interview phase of the selection procedure only 1000 join which was 2/3rd of the students selected in the last phase.Calculate the total number of students appearing in the exam if for Bank X 9800 students fill the examination form but 20% of them don't go for the exam. Similarly, for Bank Y 9666 students fill the examination form but 35% of them don't go for the exam.
