Comprehension Passage
A large cube is meticulously sliced in order to yield 216 smaller identical cubes. This large cube is then segmented into medium-sized cubes. The side length of these medium-sized cubes is half of that of the original large cube. Every one of these medium-sized cubes is then coated with a certain color which is mentioned, which may or may not be unique.
All the medium-sized cubes, which are half the size of the larger cube, are painted red and subsequently reassembled. Once reassembled, the outer surface of the large cube is painted yellow. Given that there are 216 small cubes, the question is, how many of these small cubes have precisely two of their sides painted?
