Comprehension Passage
A large cube is meticulously sliced in order to yield 216 smaller identical cubes. This large cube is then segmented into medium-sized cubes. The side length of these medium-sized cubes is half of that of the original large cube. Every one of these medium-sized cubes is then coated with a certain color which is mentioned, which may or may not be unique.
Each of the medium-sized cubes is painted red and subsequently recombined. Following this, the outer surface of the now reconstructed large cube is given a coating of yellow paint. The question arises, how many of the smaller cubes have exactly two of their faces painted in a way that one face is yellow and the other is red?
