A mixture of fuel gases is fed to the anode. The gases are absorbed by a catalyst, activated and caused to react in an electrolyte. This reaction releases a stream of electrons, making direct current. Meanwhile at the cathode, oxygen is adsorbed and reacts with incoming current to complete the chemical and electrical circuit.
