When a policeman steps into the road and raises his hand to stop traffic, he is not acting as a tyrant but as a protector of freedom. By accepting small limits on personal liberty, we can create a society where freedom is real for everyone. We must preserve both our individual freedom and our social freedom. This requires a thoughtful balance. While no one should tell me exactly what my child must study, if I were to say my child should have no education, society would step in and insist that my child must go to school, whether I like it or not.
