As a country, it is our responsibility to promote the financial interests as well as educational avenues for the weaker section of the country which are generally referred to as the Scheduled Tribes. It is also mentioned in our constitution that we must fend the weaker section off exploitation or any form of social injustice. The Human Development Index (HDI) of the tribal population is quite low compared to the rest of the population. This is mainly because they live in clusters, generally in remote areas, which are remote or in the vicinity of forests. The development programs meant for the general public often elude the tribal population for the reasons of inaccessibility and difficult terrain.
