Fed up and worried about her daughter, Lisa talked to her sister, who had recently moved to the home next to theirs. She mentioned nothing extraordinary: only that Heidi had been talking and making friends with a certain Mr Gordy. Lisa’s sister was taken aback - she had heard of Mr Gordy because he was the previous owner of their home. Astonished, she immediately took the deed of the house and showed it to Lisa, who was even more shocked because Mr James S. Gordy had been dead since 1974. Still a little put off by the idea that her daughter could talk to ghosts, Lisa contacted Catherine Ledford, the owner of another house near the Wyricks. Catherine confirmed that Mr Gordy died in 1974 and that she knew him personally because he was a Sunday School Superintendent in their church at Elison Methodist Church for many years.
