All you need is a little tweaking of your skincare regimen to keep it hydrated, "your skin indicates changes in temperature early on. You should not wait for the winters to set in, Instead, start preparing from the moment you experience a change in weather", says Mumbai based dermatologist Dr Parikh. While those with dry skin are among the worst affected, people with oily or combination skins may find their skin looking dull and patchy.
A change in weather calls for a revamp of your skincare routine. "You need to shift to creamier, hydrating products and those that are gentler on your skin. So, When you buy a face - wash for winter, pick one that cleanses but does not strip the skin of its natural oils. Avoid face washes with harsh acids and peroxides", advises Dr Rashmi Shetty. When it comes to face creams look fir ingredients like vitamin E, natural oils, soothing flower extracts and pep that repair and stimulate your skin. Avoid alcohol or clay - based products, all of which have a drying effect.
Of course you know moisturizing is key when it comes to fighting winter skin woes. No matter which cream you choose, apply it multiple times during the day and night. Additionally, massage your body with warm oil five minutes before a bath.
