Facts relating to cause of French Revolutions.

I. In France there were certain in direct taxes which were collected not by state officials, but by private individuals or companies.

II. The clergy the Rome Catholic Church formed the first order in the State. It was rich and powerful. It owned probably a fifth of the land of France.

III. The revolution was not caused by the Philosophers but by the condition and evils of the National life and by the mistakes of government.
