Comprehension Passage

Read the following passage and answer the questions that follows:

The population of the globe reached 1 billion after hundreds of thousands of years, and then increased seven times in just another 200 years or so. In 2011, the world's population crossed the 7 billion threshold; this year, it is expected to pass the 8 billion threshold. In 2030, 2050, and 2100, this population is projected to increase to around 8.5 billion, 9.7 billion, and 11 billion, respectively. This sharp growth has been mostly fueled by an increase in the proportion of individuals reaching reproductive age, significant changes in fertility rates, rising urbanisation, and quickening migration. China and India are the two most populous nations in the world, with Asia home to over 61% of the world's population. In fact, India is anticipated to surpass China in terms of population by 2027. Africa is anticipated to see more than half of the world's population growth between now and 2050. However, the populations of 55 countries in the world with most of them in European continent are expected to decrease by 2050, of which 26 may see a reduction of at least ten per cent. India's population presents various issues, including uneven development and a lack of job creation at the appropriate rate. We have a limited window of opportunity, so it's crucial to foster and take full advantage of this population expansion for economic gain. The issue is how to move India's economy from a low-income country to one with at least high middle income. While the total population is only expected to expand by 56% between now and 2050, the proportion of older people is increasing quickly. With time, women's and families' aspirations have evolved; they now desire fewer children but lack access to family planning. This is clear from a report that claims India has a 13% unplanned fertility rate. The quality of life is the real issue; 21% of people aged 60 and beyond have chronic morbidities. There are states with different rates of population increase.

The word 'chronic morbidity' means-

1
a dimension of health capturing short-term (chronic) symptoms, health conditions or diseases.
2
a dimension of health capturing small-term (chronic) symptoms, health conditions or diseases.
3
a dimension of health capturing definite short-term (chronic) symptoms, health conditions or diseases.
4
a dimension of health capturing long-term (chronic) symptoms, health conditions or diseases.
