In August 2018, the ISBD Review Group initiated a four-year work plan spanning two stages for the revision of ISBD from 2018 to 2021. The primary goals of this revision are twofold:

(A). Harmonizing ISBD with CCF

(B). Aligning the ISBD with LRM to maintain consistency among IFLA standards. This involves integrating the overarching conceptual model provided by LRM into the ISBD implementation.

(C). The ISBD Content Update Task Force, to produce an Update to the ISBD Consolidated Edition 2011 to provide for the urgent needs of communities of users.

(D). Ensuring that the ISBD remains responsive to the needs of its user communities, as indicated by the proposals submitted to the ISBD Review Group.
