The objectives of AACR-2 are as follows

(A). To provide for worldwide access.

(B). To reconcile in a single text the North American and British texts of 1967

(C). To incorporate in the single text all amendments and changes already agreed and implemented under the previous mechanisms. 

(D). To consider for inclusion in AACR all proposals for amendment currently under discussion between the ALA, the Library Association
