Directions: Read the following paragraph and answer the questions below.
Waves are disturbances that transfer energy from one place to another without transferring matter. They are categorized into two main types: mechanical waves and electromagnetic waves. Mechanical waves, like sound and seismic waves, need a medium to propagate, while electromagnetic waves, like light and radio waves, do not require a medium and can travel through the vacuum of space.Waves also possess several common properties, including wavelength, frequency, amplitude, and speed. The wavelength is the distance between equivalent points on a continuous wave, frequency is the number of waves that pass a fixed point in a second, amplitude is the maximum displacement of a point on the wave from its rest position, and wave speed refers to the speed at which a wave point moves.
