In a small village nestled between rolling hills, there lived a young boy named Kian. Kian was known for his quick temper and impatience. Whenever he encountered a problem, he would react hastily, often making the situation worse. One day, Kian found himself in a disagreement with his best friend, which escalated into a bitter argument. Feeling wronged and deeply upset, Kian stormed off to his grandfather, hoping to find someone who would take his side.

His grandfather, a wise old man with years of experience etched in the lines of his face, listened patiently to Kian's tale of woe. Instead of taking sides, he proposed a challenge. "Let us go to the forest tomorrow morning," he said, "and I promise you will find the answer you seek."

Curious and slightly impatient, Kian agreed. The next morning, equipped with two empty baskets, they set off into the forest. Once they were deep among the trees, the grandfather stopped and pointed to a bush of wild berries. "Pick as many berries as you can and fill this basket. We shall meet back here in one hour," he instructed Kian, handing him one of the baskets.

Kian, eager to prove his diligence, quickly started picking the berries. However, his impatience got the better of him. He haphazardly threw berries into his basket, not noticing that many were unripe or even rotten.

An hour later, they regrouped. Kian noticed his grandfather's basket was only half as full but with the most luscious, ripe berries he had ever seen. In contrast, Kian's basket was full, but only a small portion was actually good to eat.

Seeing Kian's puzzled look, his grandfather explained, "Life, much like picking berries, requires patience and discernment. In your rush, you failed to pick the right berries. Similarly, reacting hastily to situations, without taking the time to understand and assess, often leads to poor results."

Kian, now understanding the lesson, realized that his impulsive nature had cost him a friend. He learned that patience and careful thought were crucial in dealing with any situation. With a newfound resolve, he decided to apologize and reconcile with his friend, this time approaching the situation with patience and understanding.
