Comprehension Passage

Read the given passage and answer the following questions -

A man and his son were once going to market with their donkey. As they walked alongside it, a countryman passed by and remarked, "You fools, what is a donkey for but to ride upon?" Taking the advice to heart, the man hoisted his boy onto the donkey, and they continued on their way.

However, it wasn't long before they encountered a group of men. One of them commented, "See that lazy youngster? He lets his father walk while he rides." Feeling the weight of these words, the man had his son dismount. He then climbed onto the donkey himself.

Despite this adjustment, their solutions seemed to fall short again when they passed by two women. One woman said to the other, "Shame on that lazy lout for letting his poor little son trudge along." The criticism left the man torn about the best course of action, but eventually, he decided to lift his son onto the donkey as well, so they both sat on it.

As they made their way into the town, people began to jeer and point at them. Confused, the man stopped and questioned the reason for their mockery. The bystanders retorted, "Aren't you ashamed of yourself for overloading that poor donkey with both you and your hulking son?" Trapped by the conflicting judgments of others, the man and boy dismounted and contemplated their next move.

After much thought, they decided to cut down a pole, to which they tied the donkey's feet, and hoisted the animal onto their shoulders. This peculiar sight drew laughter from all who saw them. Unfortunately, as they reached the Market Bridge, the donkey managed to kick loose one of its feet and caused quite a commotion. In the chaos, the boy lost his grip on the pole, and the struggle led to the donkey falling over the bridge. Being unable to swim with its feet tied, the donkey drowned.

An old man, who had observed their entire journey, approached them and imparted a piece of wisdom - "Please all, and you will please none."
