There are broadly two modes of opening a bank account - online and offline. One can either go to a nearby branch and request to open a new bank account or directly go to a bank's website to start the procedure online. Getting an account open is a matter of picking a bank based on your preferences, providing certain documents, and funding your account. Once the formalities are done, you can start using your account, save time and money. The easiest way to open a bank account is by visiting a branch and completing the required procedure. First of all, a decision about the type of bank account you wish to open must be taken. Once you have made a decision, the next step is to approach a convenient bank, based on your preferences, accessibility, benefits, and so on. Then, you will be required to fill in a 'Bank Account Opening Form'. Necessary details regarding name, address, occupation, and other details must be carefully filled in. If a joint account has to be opened, the form must be signed jointly. Generally, a bank requires references from existing account holders. The introducer will be required to sign the column meant for this purpose. Now, you can submit the form along with the necessary documents to the bank. The bank officer will verify the filled form and documents and then give his/her approval to open an account. Once your request is approved, the bank will issue a bank account number, debit card, and other details.
