Read the passage given below and answer the questions that follow:
Dadi had come to the hospital for operation for an eye ailment. The operation had gone well and she was on the road to recovery. On the day of the expected discharge, when Tanuja's mother came to the hospital to complete the formalities and take her home, she was accosted by some hospital inmates at the gate who told her, 'Where have you been all this time? Your old mother slipped from her bed at night and broke her hip bone.' Tanuja's mother rushed in to provide succour to her mother. After emergency treatment, Dadi was shifted to the orthopaedic ward. A complicated surgery followed which necessitated her stay in the hospital for six weeks for convalescence. In the hospital, she was looked after by Tanuja and Machhli during the day, while Tanuja's mother stayed with her during the night. After a few days, when Machhli found Tanuja's mother overworked as she had to take care of her home too, she offered to do the night shift too. Machhli's devoted service for Dadi's recovery brought her closer to Dadi and Her family.
Over the years, Machhli had served many, many patients but there was something so affectionate, so endearing in Dadi that brought Machhli close to her. Machhli could not help recalling that in her village home too, she had a grandmother who resembled Dadi in many ways, including the way Dadi showered affection on all those who came in contact with her. In the hospital, Dadi showered affection on doctors, nurses, attendants, in fact, on all those who touched her life even in oblique ways. The hospital personnel too called her Dadi and gave her due respect and regard.
