Comprehension Passage

Read the given passage carefully and answer the following questions -

The little old woman gently removed the slate from her nose, and upon reading the etched words, she inquired, "Is your name Dorothy, my dear?"

"Yes," the child responded, gazing upward and wiping away her tears.

"Then you must journey to the City of Emeralds. Perhaps Oz will be able to assist you," the old woman advised.

"Where is this city located?" Dorothy queried with curiosity.

"It lies precisely in the heart of the country and is governed by Oz, the Great Wizard I mentioned to you," she explained.

Concerned, Dorothy asked, "Is he a kind person?"

"He is a good Wizard. As for whether he is a man, I cannot ascertain, as I have never seen him," the old woman confessed.

"How shall I reach there?" Dorothy inquired further.

"The path necessitates walking. It is a lengthy trek through lands that are at times welcoming and at other times bleak and foreboding. Nevertheless, I intend to employ all the magical skills at my disposal to safeguard you from danger," the old woman promised.

Feeling a bond with the little old woman, whom she had come to view as her sole ally, Dorothy pleaded, "Won't you accompany me?"

Regrettably, the woman responded, "No, I cannot undertake that, but I will bestow upon you my kiss, and none shall dare harm someone who has received a kiss from the Witch of the North." With that, she drew nearer to Dorothy and tenderly kissed her on the forehead. The spot where her lips made contact left a round, luminous mark on the girl, a discovery Dorothy made shortly thereafter.
