The Task Force Created in 1997 commenced reframing the ACRL Model Statement of Objectives for Academic Bibliographic Instruction in 1998 and ultimately developed the "Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education" in 2000. This Model encompasses Competency Standards with associated performance indicators which include:
(A). The information-literate student, Uses technology effectively.
(B). The information-literate student determines the extent of the information needed.
(C). The information-literate student, either individually or as part of a group, uses information effectively to accomplish a specific purpose.
(D). The information literate student accesses needed information effectively and efficiently.
