"The military forces were reorganized by the Sultan. The Commander-in-Chief was henceforth called Amirul Umara and a group of officers, called barbardaran, was created whose duty it was to mobilise troops in time of need. There were, besides, two hundred Yakka Jawans or Silahdaran whose duty it was to keep charge of the personal arms of the sultan. Sultan had 4,000 body guards who were called Khasahkhel.
